Inception of the School and College
Savar Cantonment was in dire need of an English Medium School and College, as it was very cumbersome to go all the way to Dhaka by the children living here to attend such schools and colleges. More so, because of the traffic jam and dreadful plying of buses and Lorries, parents were discouraged to send their children to such uncertainty. Realizing the necessity, the Management of the Savar Cantonment had set up this English Medium School in its premises way back on August 28, 1999, where the children of Defence personnel as well as children from the neighbourhood could be educated in line with the courses using English as the medium of instruction but emphasizing equal proficiency in Bangla. The School was established on a make shift arrangement in tin roof building and ran in the old campus up till December 2008.
Shifting to Present Complex
The present academic complex was inaugurated on January 03, 2009 by the then first lady of the Bangladesh Army, Begum Naznin Moeen. General Moeen U Ahmed (Retd) ndc, psc, former Chief of Army Staff, Bangladesh Army, also graced the occasion. It was then two storied building. The total area of the college is 5.183 acres where each floor of the school and college building is 21,400 square feet. Aesthetically designed campus of the college has incorporated all required facilities and amenities of a modern school and college. The school and college block is set in an area of natural wonder, located within Savar Cantonment, allowing for a clean and healthy environment. Modern architectural design of the campus building with large spacious premises provides a unique look in the surrounding.
